Every year, countless people and dogs die in hot cars. In the scorching heat of summer or freezing climate of winter, the interior of a car can quickly reach fatal temperatures. Dogs and individuals trapped inside can suffer from dehydration, heatstroke, frostbite, and other serious problems, which often lead to death. The NoRD System can safeguard dogs and individuals who cannot advocate for themselves; potentially saving the lives of children, elderly, impaired or disabled individuals, and pets.
The NoRD System is a notification device with a control unit integrated into a vehicle’s dashboard with Wi-Fi enabled wristbands worn by users. When a vehicle's ignition is off, the driver is alerted to passengers who remain in the vehicle by detecting the wristbands. The system is self-enabled and requires no action from the driver and will also alert if the temperature is dangerously high or low. The NoRD System is equipped with GPS, allowing First Responders to locate the vehicle if the unit isn’t deactivated.
The NoRD System can be used in most vehicles. The wristbands are tamper proof and designed to be worn by people who cannot advocate for themselves while being transported to daycare, nursing care facilities or outings.
